1. Promote and respect public participation.
2. Open all Council Committee Meetings to the Public
3. Provide complete staff and legal information to the Council and the Public without delay.
4. Improve long-term planning and budgeting.
5. Focus on priorities that benefit residents . This includes fire & EMS, roads, police, local businesses, open government, and natural areas, parks, and trails. Eliminate wasteful expenditures.
Positive Platform to Manage Growth
1. Make planning and development review fully transparent and consistent with State and Regional requirements.
2. Ensure future developments are high quality, with strong and enforceable design standards.
3. Stop city decisions that damage our lakes, streams, and natural areas.
4. Eliminate loopholes that let developers delay infrastructure, including schools, roads, and ball fields.
5. Improve future development requirements. Put residents first in growth management decisions and control the rate of growth so public services don’t decline.
6. Reduce or eliminate taxpayer subsidies for new development. Limit property tax and utility rate increases.

About Geoff Bowie
Geoff and his family have lived in Black Diamond since 1988. His wife Emmy's family history in Black Diamond goes back generations.
Geoff served on the Black Diamond City Council from 1996-2009. He has seen what works and what does not, and wants to use his experience to serve the community.
He is a manager at a utility construction company where he has worked for 32 years. He has significant municipal development experience and holds Certifications in Mine Safety and from the Department of Labor & Industries.
